I've got a live preview plugin in action at sprachwaffe. It's short and sweet; there's also a more robust one floating around that I haven't used. Both can be found at http://www.wp-plugins.org/

Neither of these plugins is completely robust; they don't take into account any filters you might have on your comments (e.g. some other plugin of yours filters submitted comments for something like smilies). A non-live plugin could be fairly easily written, but I don't know of any that are currently available (which doesn't mean much). A truly robust live preview plugin would be really hard. It would have to parse which PHP functions are being used to filter comments (not hard) then convert them into javascript functions (seems hard - may be easy with http://pear.php.net/package/HTML_Javascript )

So, the reason that I didn't include the closing tag is that I figured the comments engine might be using a one-tag version of links, due to the presence of a "title" option in the tag. I believe that slashdot has a "url" tag that handles everything.

As for Opera, you don't have to pay for it. It's kind of like shareware - if you like it, you can buy a copy to support further development and add a couple of features (or more specifically, remove the banner add at the top). Go to "Downloads" on the top menu bar of www.opera.com. I've been using the free version for about 2 years now and really like the interface, much more than Firefox's interface.

As you can see, I've taken the liberty of unlinking your entire post. It needed to have a tag to end the link.

I'm not aware of any comment preview feature, though it's a nice idea! On the topic of Opera, it sounds like a great browser by all accounts -- just a pity it costs! I know that Firefox will display this particular site though, as that's what I develop for.

Oh wow! See what I mean. It turned almost my whole comment into a link, which was not the intended result. Although it makes it very easy for you to go to the Opera webpage, which certainly isn't a bad thing in my book.

Get Firefox *OR* Opera

BTW, is there any way for you to allow comment previews, Paul? Every program handles tags differently, thus I don't know if the above link to the Opera website will work. (In the event that the link *doesn't* work, it's simply www.opera.com)
