Welcome to the online home of Paul Cook, living in Johannesburg, South Africa. I head up the technology side of Thornhill Associates. Many of the posts on this currently less-than-wildly-active site date from my time as a physics PhD student at the California Institute of Technology.

About this site

Navigate around this site using the links on the bottom of the picture at the top of this page -- they're orange on a green background.

Most of the content is in my weblog, divided between a number of categories. Each article allows you to post comments about that article. Also, there is an RSS feed -- with the use of any of the numerous RSS readers around, you can get updates whenever I post something new.

I also have collection of photos available. Some of the photos have higher-resolution versions that are not on this site, due to server space restrictions. Contact me and I'll send them to you.

This site was made partially to help me learn modern web standards. But I can't be bothered to spend hours dealing with browsers that don't handle these standards properly. Yes, I'm talking about Internet Explorer, that most broken of browsers. So, this site looks best in anything other than Internet Explorer. I suggest Mozilla FireFox, but you can use anything.
